Boku-u-koku 墨雨刻

This tall, architectural Ikebana vase has a strong rectangular silhouette, balanced by an intentionally rugged, uneven surface. Its deep charcoal-brown body resembles weathered stone or dark earth, while the scattered diagonal incisions across the surface suggest rain falling across a rocky landscape.

The coarse texture gives the vessel an especially tactile, handmade character. Rather than competing with an arrangement, its dark, restrained body provides a quiet background for bare branches, pine, grasses, or dramatic seasonal stems.
