Seihado 青波土

This vase has a much more organic and expressive presence. Its irregular, wave-like rim immediately evokes the movement of water, while the deep blue glaze across the upper section gradually gives way to warm brown and earthy tones below.

The contrast between the cool blue and rough earthen body creates the impression of a coastal landscape — water above, earth below. The uneven rim is particularly suited to Ikebana because it introduces a natural asymmetry that can be echoed by branches and foliage.

The textured lower body gives it a grounded, almost stone-like quality, while the blue glazed area adds depth and fluidity.
